European Sovereignty

Where your data actually lives.

"EU hosting" has become a checkbox that means almost nothing. A data center address in Frankfurt does not tell you who operates the infrastructure, who can access it, or under which rules. So here is what we actually do, in plain language.

A sovereign cloud, not just an EU region

Loopthink runs in a dedicated European sovereign cloud environment in Germany. That is not the same thing as booking a normal cloud region that happens to be on European soil. This environment is physically and logically separate from global cloud infrastructure, with its own operations, its own support and its own control plane inside the EU.

Loopthink runs on the AWS European Sovereign Cloud, and we chose it on purpose. A 7.8 billion euro build in Germany, with its own German corporate structure, EU-based staff and a control plane that never leaves Europe. Hyperscaler engineering, operated under European control. That combination did not exist before 2026, and we would rather build on it than on something weaker just to keep a logo off this page.

Data stays in the EU

Customer data and metadata are stored and processed in Germany. Not mirrored somewhere else for convenience.

Operated from inside the EU

Day-to-day operations, support and access to production systems are handled by personnel based in the European Union.

Separate by design

The sovereign environment has its own infrastructure and control plane, physically and logically independent from global cloud regions.

Built to keep running

The environment is designed to operate autonomously inside Europe, even if the connection to the rest of the world is cut.

What we deliberately do not claim

You will not find the words "immune to foreign law" on this page. The sovereign cloud we run on ultimately has a US parent company, and that is exactly why we will not promise you immunity from US law. Nobody running on hyperscaler infrastructure honestly can. What we can say: your data and its metadata stay in the EU, the people operating the infrastructure are based in the EU, and the setup is built so that European customers keep control over where their data is and who touches it. For air-gapped or highest-regulation environments we also run fully on-prem, then the question does not even come up.

Want the architecture details?

We are happy to walk your security and compliance team through the exact setup, region by region. No slides with clouds and padlocks on them, promise.
