One token in, the tools come out.

Freshsales is where a sales team's pipeline lives: contacts and the accounts they belong to, deals in pipelines with stages and probabilities, tasks and appointments per rep, and the activity timeline of every contact. The questions are asked before every call and every forecast, "which deals close this month", "when did we last talk to Huber AG", but today they mean a login, a saved view and scrolling 25 rows at a time.
With the Freshsales connector, Sales, Sales Operations and Management ask in Claude or ChatGPT and get the answer from the live CRM. Loopthink holds one Freshsales API key, every person signs in with their own identity, and every call is logged under their name. The key never reaches the AI client.
The connector is read-only: 22 tools for search and lookup, contacts, accounts and deals with their saved views, contact activities, tasks and appointments, owners, pipelines, stages and the field definitions behind custom fields. Nothing in it can create or change a record.

Write tools are off for every role until you switch them on, one tool for one role. The names are what the model sees; it also gets the full parameter description of each tool.
Getting the Freshsales token.
Five minutes, once. Nobody on your team ever sees it.
- 1
Log in to Freshsales as the user Loopthink should act as.
- 2
Click your profile picture > Profile Settings > API Settings tab.
- 3
Copy 'Your API key' (the bundle alias for the connection is shown below it).
- 4
Paste only the key into Loopthink; Loopthink sends it as 'Token token=<key>'.
- 5
In Loopthink, add Freshsales from the catalog and paste the token. It also asks for freshworks bundle alias. Your team sees the tools a minute later.
The API key has no scopes and acts with the full permissions of its user (role, territory, record visibility). Task lists only return tasks of that user. Use a dedicated user with a read-focused role.
What we suggest masking in Freshsales.
A CRM is a list of people: email addresses, mobile and work numbers, first and last names, display names, postal addresses, LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter handles, free-text descriptions. The suggested fields mask those and keep account names, deal amounts, stages, expected close dates and activity timestamps, which is what a forecast or preparation question needs. Management sees 340,000 euros expected to close in November without a single mobile number in the answer.

Freshsales and Loopthink
- Whose permissions does the key carry?
- The API key has no scopes and acts with the full permissions of its user: role, territory and record visibility. Create a dedicated user with a read-focused role and use that user's key; what the user cannot see, the AI cannot see either.
- Why does the AI only see some tasks and appointments?
- list_tasks and list_appointments return only the tasks and appointments of the token's user, and both need a filter. If the team's calendar should be visible, the dedicated user needs to own or be assigned those records.
- What is the bundle alias?
- The part before .myfreshworks.com in your Freshsales URL, shown under Profile Settings > API Settings below the key. Enter only the key itself; Loopthink sends it as 'Token token=<key>' on every call.
- Does every team member need their own Freshsales account?
- No. Loopthink holds one key or token for Freshsales. Your people sign in to Loopthink with their own identity, and every call to Freshsales is logged under their name. Seats in Freshsales stay where they are today.
- Where does the Freshsales key live?
- In Loopthink, encrypted, in the EU. It never reaches the AI client and never reaches the people using the connector. Rotate it in Freshsales whenever you like and paste the new one once.
- Can somebody write to Freshsales from the chat?
- Not unless you switch it on. Write actions are a separate row in the permission matrix and are off for every role by default. If a role needs one write tool, you grant that one tool to that one role.
- What does the model see?
- The result of the tool call, after masking. Fields you mark as personal, such as emails, names or card details, are masked before the answer travels to the AI client. The model gets the numbers, not the people.
- What does it cost?
- Free for one person and two connectors, no card. Pro is €19 a month for up to five people and every connector on the site, with roles, field masking and a 30-day audit. Team is €49 for ten people and adds your own REST APIs and SQL databases, your own domain and your own identity provider. No call needed.
Stuck, or a tool you need is missing? A person who knows this connector answers within one working day.
